Valley of the Sun United Way has been uniting the Valley since 1925.

We envision and will achieve a community where every child, family and individual is healthy, has a safe place to live, and can succeed in school, work, and life.

Through our United We Prepare partnership with Verizon, we have been able to build several thousand heat relief kits so far, all during Arizona's hottest season.๐Ÿ”ฅ

These kits are actively going directly to our community members who need it most. Thank you to our volunteers and partners who make this work possible. Together, we will be prepared for ANY disaster. ๐Ÿ’™

Celebrating with powerful reminders that a bit of encouragement goes a LONG way. ๐Ÿ’Œ

Students at our Literacy Hub at Lattie Coor School read encouragement cards filled with positivity, hope, and belief in their future.

These small moments are part of something bigger, building confidence, strengthening literacy, and creating spaces where every child feels seen and supported.

Thatโ€™s the heart of our work. ๐Ÿ’™ Learn more, and join us: https://vsuw.org/get-involved/

From survival to stability, Milediโ€™s story is a powerful reminder of whatโ€™s possible when community comes together. ๐Ÿ’™

Through the support of Valley of the Sun United Way, our incredible partners at Jewish Family & Children's Service, and our long-time partner Wells Fargo, Miledi was able to access the guidance, support, and opportunities needed to build a new future for herself and her daughter.

Today, sheโ€™s pursuing her passion for barbering, giving back to the community, and creating lasting stability and opportunity for her family.

Her journey is a testament to the impact of partnership, compassion, and investing in long-term solutions that help our neighbors thrive.

Community impact happens when strong partners come together. ๐Ÿ’™

Thanks to Salt River Project's generous support and dedicated employee volunteers, we recently assembled 2,000 snack packs that will be distributed through the Heat Relief Network to organizations including Phoenix Rescue Mission and Circle the City.

As Arizona temperatures continue to rise, partnerships like this help ensure vulnerable community members have access to critical support and relief resources throughout the summer.

Weโ€™re grateful to work alongside partners like SRP who continue to invest in the health and well-being of our community.

Our community showed up in a BIG way for the first stop of our Challenge in partnership with Verizon! ๐Ÿ’™

With the help of incredible volunteers - including members of the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association (Notre Dame Club of Phoenix) - we packed 2,000 heat relief kits in just one day! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ“ฆ

Our goal: 8,400 kits by the end of summer

Challenge progress: โœ… 2,000 / 8,400 kits completed

Want to join the mission? Stay tuned for more volunteer opportunities and ways to give back.

Still reminiscing on an unforgettable McCommunity Day with Women United ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ”

From literacy games and our community book drive, to meeting author Cherry (C.A.) Prailleau and supporting Literacy Hubs through every meal purchased at McDonaldโ€™s - this day was filled with impact, connection, and community.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to support local children and families through literacy.
