🍂 Reminder: Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday, November 1! ⏰

We’ll turn our clocks back one hour on Sunday morning. While an extra hour of sleep sounds great, changes in routine can be challenging for some autistic people and families.

Here are three ways to help make the transition easier:

💡 Prepare ahead of time. Start talking about the time change now. Use visual schedules, calendars, or social stories to help make the change more predictable.

💬 Explain why. Talk about why the clocks change and what that means for daily routines, like waking up, eating meals, and going to school or work.

🌙 Adjust sleep gradually. If a change in sleep schedule is helpful, shift bedtime and wake-up time by 10–15 minutes over several days to help ease the transition.

Remember, everyone adjusts differently! A little preparation, patience, and flexibility can go a long way. 💙

Looking for a fun, creative, and sensory-friendly Halloween activity? Contemporary Craft's Community Day is free and open to the public, with hands-on make-and-take projects in all their studios!

🕸️ Sensory-Friendly Hour | 10–11 AM

Enjoy a more sensory-friendly environment with dimmed lights, no music, and increased availability of accessibility tools like noise-canceling headphones and magnifying glasses. Mornings tend to be quieter, so there’s no need to rush!
