π Sacramento County Environmental Management Department was honored to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub today!
After first envisioning this location in 2022 and breaking ground less than one year ago, the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub will officially begin operations this July at their new facility located at 2771 Don Juan Drive in Rancho Cordova.
The Community Food Hub plays an important role in supporting the community by providing food assistance to approximately 1,500 families each week throughout Rancho Cordova. Their dedication and commitment to helping those in need continues to make a meaningful impact across the region.
EMD is looking forward to working alongside the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub and was excited to be part of their special celebration today. Congratulations on this incredible milestone! π

ππ³ FOG + Septic Systems = BIG Problems π³π
FOG stands for Fats, Oils, Grease β and while they may go down the drain as liquids, they cook and harden inside your plumbing and septic system.
Over time, FOG can:
π« Clog pipes
π« Damage your septic system
π« Cause sewage backups
π« Reduce drain field performance
π« Lead to costly repairs
β
SepticSmart Tips:
β’ Pour cooled grease into a container and throw it away
β’ Wipe greasy pans with a paper towel before washing
β’ Use sink strainers to catch food scraps
β’ Avoid rinsing oils, butters, sauces, or bacon grease down the drain
π‘What goes down the drain doesnβt disappear β it ends up in your septic system. Protect it by keeping FOG out!
