As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Weatherization Assistance Program, DHCD is spotlighting the team at Bay Aging and the work they do to improve energy efficiency across the Commonwealth.

One Example: By combining Weatherization resources with other state and local funding, Bay Family Housing was able to replace Lusminia Stewart’s roof, repair her breaker box, and install a new heating system in addition to providing weatherization energy-efficiency measures. This is a powerful example of how multiple programs can work together to make a profound difference in someone’s life

Each year, the Virginia Governor’s Housing Conference recognizes the best of housing in the Commonwealth and celebrates innovative work making an impact.
