ReStores are retail stores where you can purchase or donate a variety of quality new & reclaimed building materials, pre-owned furniture, appliances & more

The ReStore recycles overstocked, seconds, used, discontinued and salvageable building materials donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. These donated items are used in two ways: first to build simple, decent housed for low-income families serving the Habitat for Humanity mission, and also to be resold to the general public to finance building projects. Habitat for Humanity of Midcoast Maine describes the purpose of the ReStore project as a support of the global vision of Habitat of Humanity through the recycling of building materials, pre-owed furniture, appliances and more. This is done mainly in four ways: 1. Environmental - being good stewards of valuable, natural resources. 2. Economic - reducing landfill disposal cost for builders. 3. Social - providing inexpensive material for home revitalization. 4. Partnering - serving as a financial partner in the construction of Habitat homes by providing us useable material for the construction of its home.

The Midcoast ReStore has been serving our community for 15 years, and what a journey it’s been! We’ve grown by leaps and bounds, from collecting donations on the side of the road in our own personal trucks to purchasing our very own box truck this year! 🚚 Thanks to all the generous donors😍

Today, we’re picking up donations two to three times a week while also making deliveries to meet the growing needs of our community.

The demand for affordable furniture and building supplies continues to grow, and so does the importance of keeping usable items out of our ever-growing landfills. Every donation, purchase, and delivery helps make a difference!

We are incredibly grateful that the Midcoast ReStore has become such a vital part of our community. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, donated to us, shopped with us, and helped us grow over the past 17 years. We couldn’t have done it without you! ❤️ Shout out to Adventure Advertising for the beautiful wrap job on our truck🥰
