When UC Regents meetings are met with overpolicing, surveillance, and intimidation, student voices are not being heard; they’re being controlled.
Free speech on our campuses must include the right to dissent, organize, and speak truth to power without fear.
Students deserve transparency, accountability, and safety…not suppression. ✊📢

Our fourth and final quarterly meeting with UCSA’s External Vice Presidents and our President, JB Milliken for the 2025-26 academic year. ⚖️📆
We appreciate the deliberation around key issues facing students across the UC, especially relating to disability services, basic needs, free speech, diversity programs and federal cuts to research, SNAP & healthcare. UCSA looks forward to continuing the longstanding tradition of partnership and shared governance, especially as President Milliken hits his one-year anniversary taking helm of UC this August! 🙌🗣️🤝

🕊️🇵🇸 STUDENTS SPOKE — NOW UC MUST ACT.
Nearly 75% of UC Berkeley students voted YES on Proposition 26D, demanding transparency and divestment from companies tied to military weapons production and surveillance technology. The student body made its position clear: our tuition, our futures, and our university should not be tied to systems of violence and repression.
From South African apartheid to fossil fuels, student movements have always pushed institutions toward accountability. This moment is no different.
UCSA is calling on the UC Regents, the UC Office of the President, and the UC Berkeley Foundation to honor the democratic mandate delivered by students and move toward immediate divestment.
History remembers who acted and who stayed silent.
