The University of California Student Association (UCSA) is a coalition of UC students and student governments aimed at increasing the accessibility, affordability and quality of the UC system through advocacy and direct action organizing. UCSA is a student-run, membership-based organization, with a Board of Directors made up entirely of students and a full-time staff led by an Executive Director.

Closing out 2026 with the incredible Jasmine Huang, former LD for External Affairs Office @ Associated Students UCSD & transfer from East Los Angeles College to UC San Diego / UCSD! 🐺🔱

Jasmine received her BA in political science this year and is now pursuing a JD from UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). Her experiences as a community college transfer student paved the way for opportunities at UCSD, and now in law school! 🏫⚖️📚

For , join us in recognizing our 2025-26 Transfer Student Affairs Officer, Anthony Nocedal! He is an Irvine Valley College transfer who graduated cm laude from UC Irvine with a BS in Public Health Sciences & BA in Criminology, Law & Society. 👨‍🎓🎓

As the former Chair of our Transfer Student Coalition, he successfully organized nearly 70 UC transfer students to Sacramento this past April to advocate for stronger transfer pathways & representation. 📣

Anthony is now a Fulbright Research Scholar working on electronic waste policy & legislation in the Philippines! 🇵🇭🙌

As this year’s comes to a close, UCSA invited transfer students across the UC to share their stories. Meet our 2026-27 Transfer Officer, Steve Salinas! 💙

Steve is a first generation pre-med student at UC Irvine who transferred from Irvine Valley College. He is a Barry Goldwater Scholar, the UC student representative on the AB 928 Intersegmental Implementation Committee, and Chair of the UC Transfer Student Coalition.

UCSA is committed to empowering Native and Indigenous students, including through our SEED campaign—which has advocated for university compliance with NAGPRA and stronger data collection to ensure equitable support. 🗣️

This week, UCSA and UCGPC sent a letter urging our California Congressional delegation to cosponsor two critical Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolutions to codify protections for international students across the country facing uncertainty with a proposed rule from DHS limiting duration of status. We cannot put a time limit on every students’ education, especially when some degree programs can average 5-7+ years depending on the level or field. On behalf of over 34,000 international students across the UC, we will continue to advocate for their equitable academic success. Huge shoutout to our International Student Affairs Officer, ASUC Senator Ding & UCLA GSA EVP Feng for their work on this effort. 🗣️🙌🔊

I am deeply proud to share that all 4 of my Support California Foster Kids bills delivered to the Governor’s desk are now signed into law! These new laws are only possible because of the hard work put in with my office by so many foster youth, families, advocates, workers, and foster-youth serving organizations; thank you all so much!
