Give right now! It only takes a minute. 🖤

This Big Day of Giving we are amplifying and celebrating that community care is for everyone! At Mustard Seed School Sacramento community care takes many shapes and shows up in places we might never have thought, like butterfly week which is made possible because of your donations.

You make it possible to care for kids on campus by providing them with a robust education while their grown ups navigate the crisis of homelessness. You make it possible for them to imagine and dream about their own journey to flourishing, just like those butterflies. You make community care a reality.

Will you make a donation to our Big Day of Giving Campaign today? You can donate at our website, our page, or even stop by to drop off a monetary donation in person.

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett’s father was a school teacher and her mother served in the federal government for over 30 years. A civil rights and criminal defense attorney, Congresswoman Crockett knows the importance of speaking out and being an independent voice for her constituents and all US citizens. She is a firm believer that the government is for and by the people, questioning the status quo concisely with eloquence and tenacity. Teacher Laura celebrates Jasmine Crockett’s courage this Black History Month!

On Friday we celebrated, Augustus Jackson, the Father of Ice Cream, with an ice cream party, of course!

While he did not invent ice cream, Mr. Jackson invented the modern method of manufacturing ice cream. He was a chef, confectioner, and business owner who also worked as a chef in the White House.

Today we celebrate Amanda Gorman, youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history at age 22! She was also named the first National Youth Poet Laureate at age 19.
Ms. Gorman grew up with a speech impediment that inspired her to start writing poetry and practice pronunciation. She is a Harvard grad from L.A., and Ms. Liana wanted to celebrate her with all of you!

At Mustard Seed we know Black History is everyone’s history. We have been honoring some folks who have made and continue to make history by sharing their photo and a little bit about them. Both students and staff will be participating. Hope you join us in celebrating the contributions of Black people!

The world of homelessness is already scary. With the heightened fear and uncertainty continuing to grow across our country, we are working harder than ever to cultivate safe, inclusive, and beautiful spaces for our students. Belonging, connection, a love of learning, and JOY are our ultimate goals for every child we serve.
Please help us teach children the beauty of nature, the importance of celebrations, and the value of curiosity by supporting this work.
You can support us by purchasing from our wish list, donating at sacloaves.org, and by amplifying our work. Thank you.
