Equitable access to the outdoors matters. From Tulare to Modesto, The Center’s San Joaquin Valley Health Fund partners are transforming access to nature. In the first round of our Land Use & Open Spaces Cluster Funding Program, we awarded $250,000 to five community-based organizations driving equity, conservation and climate resilience across the San Joaquin Valley. Check out their impact, by the numbers:
brought 400+ farmworker families into public lands for healing and connection through nature outings and wellness events
empowered 200+ residents to fight pesticide pollution and reclaim safe outdoor spaces
mobilized 4,000+ residents for wildfire education and green space advocacy
engaged 250+ locals in reimagining parks and planning for justice
rallied 575+ voices to pass Modesto’s Park Equity Resolution
This work is especially meaningful during Environmental Awareness Month, as we honor the communities leading the way in conservation and climate justice.
Together, we’re closing the nature gap and building a healthier, greener Valley for all.
