All month long, the Alzheimer’s Association is calling on people across San Diego and Imperial County to take charge of their brain health and learn how healthy habits and early detection can make a meaningful difference. The presentation covered the warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease, the importance of early detection, available treatment options, and strategies for responding to dementia-related behaviors. The session also included information on ways to reduce the risk of cognitive decline.

On behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association, Dr. Paulette Cazares spoke at the District Attorney’s Senior Health and Wellness event. The event covered common scams targeting seniors, consumer protection, and crime prevention tips. Dr. Cazares highlighted that older adults are particularly vulnerable to victimization, especially those living with dementia, who may experience impaired judgment. She also discussed the warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease and emphasized the importance of early detection.
