🚨 EMERGENCY DAY OF ACTION — WED APRIL 8 | 5:30PM | POWELL & MARKET, SF
----
đź“° NEWS UPDATE:
Iran has achieved a historic victory, securing a two-week ceasefire with the U.S.
However, the need to remain organized against U.S.-Israeli aggression continues. As the agreement does not include Israel and given the long history of the U.S. resuming attacks after, or even disregarding, such ceasefires. It is important to continue taking the streets!

STOP THE US-ISRAELI WAR ON IRAN!
This morning Trump said “A whole civilization will die tonight.” This is the criminal threat of a madman — but a madman who controls the deadly might of the Pentagon war machine. Trump has given a deadline for mass destruction — open the Strait of Hormuz by 8pm ET or “every bridge and power plant in Iran will be decimated.”
This illegal and unprovoked war on Iran, and Israel’s parallel campaign of extermination against Lebanon and Palestine, has already claimed thousands of Iranian lives and forcibly displaced over 1 million Lebanese people.
People in the United States need to take a stand and say — NO MORE ENDLESS WARS
Join us to protest Trump’s assault on the Iranian people and demand an end to the war NOW.
Money for people’s needs — not massacres in Iran!

We dip our banners of struggle saluting and honoring our fellow Freedom Fighter Jesse Louis Jackson. We are deeply saddened that Rev. Jesse Jackson, an Icon and truly great leader of our Black Liberation movement has joined the Ancestors. Our heart-felt condolences to family and friends.
Of course words alone cannot adequately express the grief and admiration we are presently feeling. Yet, to paraphrase Frederick Douglass, in the face of such sorrow "the heart ever presses for utterance."
In this historic moment we are in when tyrants are trying to make Jim Crow great again I want to express my gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression and say to every freedom fighter in the land, to all engaged in the struggle for Freedom, Justice and Equality that we have lost a true and dedicated champion of our sacred cause.
We do not choose the kind of world into which we are born, but we can choose to change it. We are grateful that our friend and fellow Freedom Fighter Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr. decided to change the world and left us an inspiring legacy of struggle and a sober reminder that FREEDOM IS A CONSTANT STRUGGLE!

Charlene Alexander Mitchell was the first African-American woman to run for president as a representative of the Communist Party.
She led the campaign to free Angela Davis and All Political Prisoners and was one of the founders of the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression.
100 years of Black History Month, 400 years of an uphill battle.
