Located in San Jose's historic Japantown, Yu-Ai Kai is a multi-service nonprofit senior center operating in two buildings: Yu-Ai Kai (main bldg) on 4th Street and at the Akiyama Wellness Center on the corner of 3rd and Jackson Streets. Senior Day Care, Case Management Services, Wellness Programs, Senior Nutrition Program (hot lunch on site), Neighborhood Meals on Wheels, Cultural, Consumer, Recreational and Social Activities for those 55+ older.

Did you know there are big changes coming to Medi-Cal?

Beginning January 1, 2027, a new federal law (H.R. 1) will require some Medi-Cal members to meet, work, education, or volunteer requirements if you are over 19 years old and undocumented. An estimated 1.1 million Californians could lose coverage by 2029-2030, often due to administrative barriers, though many individuals may qualify for exemptions.
