Rainier Beach Skatepark is official open!

Thank you to all of you who attended our grand opening of the park. We are so excited to have worked with some amazing members of our community to make this happen so we can have a safe community space where people from all ages can enjoy all wheels and have fun!

Thank you to Danielle Jackson of CHAMPS who helped to bring our community together and bringing this vision to life, Skate Like A Girl and Marshall Reid, Myron Curry for his amazing artistry on our murals, Daughters of Royalty Drill Team, and Scott Shinn from Parents for Skateparks for helping to bring this event together.

Community Hub is offering FREE programs for ages 12-19, including a Food Justice Learning Lab on Thursdays from 4-6 PM, 3D printing and keyboard clickers on Tuesdays from 4-6 PM, and Hip Hop for Wellness on Mondays at 4 PM.

Join Seattle Parks and Recreation, CHAMPS Resource and Service Center, and Parents for Skateparks for the Rainier Beach Playfield Skatepark ribbon cutting on Saturday, October 10 2026, from 2 pm to 4 pm at Rainier Beach Playfield, 4707 S. Cloverdale Street.

The design of the skatepark incorporates community input and naturally integrates the skate park into the surrounding landscape. As part of this project, SPR collaborated with the community on a colorful mural for the skatepark. Community artist Myron Curry is finalizing the mural and the artist will continue working in the park. Enjoy lessons by skate like a girl, music, food, and fun skate giveaways.

Second Session of Fall Swim Lessons will begin Monday, October 26. Make sure you or your child is enrolled for BOTH swim sessions by logging into your Seattle Parks and Recreation Activity Account or calling Rainier Beach Pool at 206-386-1925.

We still have room for more friends in most swim classes. Second Session of Fall Swim Lessons run 10/26 - 12/20.

Winter Swim Lesson Registration is online at 12noon starting December 8, with those who are scholarship eligible having access on December 1. Lesson Brochures will be available late November.🐠

Friendly reminder that tomorrow Thursday 9/24 Rainer Beach Community Center and Pool will be closed.

The City of Seattle will be hosting an All-Staff Training for Employees which results in all City Community Centers and Pools being closed for the day.

We will not be holding any swim lessons tomorrow. Upon enrollment, this lesson cancellation was factored into your lesson charge so there will be no refunds issued.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we attend this training.
