PREPARES of Western Washington

Coming soon! The renovations are done and the PREPARES ministry in the North Kitsap parish family (St. Cecilia, St. Olaf, and St. Peter Mission) is ready to welcome families to the Little Roses baby closet.
Volunteers will open the free shop on the second Tuesday of the month from 10 am to 1 pm. The first day is next Tuesday, June 9th. See you there!

It's the season of celebration! We're so proud of our families that are graduating from Play With Love and heading to kindergarten. Here's a celebration from St. Pius X last week!

A few weeks ago it was a gorgeous sunny day for the Prepares of St. Joseph Lynden Open House & Ministry Blessing!
There were donuts, fruit, homemade goodies, & juice! There was a PREPARES Open House tour of the "new" & "improved" facility in the mission house by PREPARES Volunteers! There was a "Kids Carnival" with games and prizes in the back yard of the mission house. There were Mother's Day and Father's Day raffle give aways!
And there was the ministry blessing by Rev. Tyler Y. Johnson and a little PREPARES overview growth stories about St Joseph, and a wonderful "Godincidence" story by their NW Regional Coordinator.

Community awareness was increased, new potential volunteers signed up, and best of all there were several volunteers who came who helped the ministry in the VERY early days when they were just filling Layette Bags on a table - who were blown away by how the St Joseph program has grown!

Visit them in Lynden on the 3rd Friday of every month. ❤

Can you believe it is almost June?!
June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Here's a prayer to prepare you for this holy month.

The Lower Columbia parish family held their May pop-up and 28 families attended!

Volunteers were excited to talk with grandparents who arrived and shared their very young son and his girlfriend were expecting, and had nothing. PREPARES was able to help with a brand new pack n play, clothing and diapers. The grandparents were thrilled.

PREPARES volunteers also enjoyed seeing returning families, seeing pictures of how much children have grown and continuing to grow deeper in relationship with each family. It really was a lot of fun.

Excellent advice from the WA State Dept of Health! And, it applies to small blow-up pools as well. Keep the kids safe around water!

Vancouver playgroup families joined together with PREPARES volunteers to explore the Columbia Springs Fish Hatchery. They fed the fish, completed a scavenger hunt, and used their magnifying glasses to examine bugs and worms. What a lovely way to explore God’s creation!
