It was our honor to celebrate White County High School and spotlight their recent student achievements and exceptional educators!

🏌️‍♀️ Congratulations to 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝘇𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻, 𝗔𝘃𝗮 𝗘𝗹𝗿𝗼𝗱, and 𝗣𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 alongside 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹 and 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘀, for their incredible run at the TSSAA State Golf Finals! These ladies tied for 4th in the State and went further than any team in WCHS history! In addition to their golfing skills, they showed outstanding sportsmanship and heart throughout the tournament. We are proud of you!

🍎 We also honored four outstanding teachers who work tirelessly to build strong relationships, foster a true sense of belonging, and guide every student on their personal learning journey. We were deeply honored to host University of Tennessee System President Randy Boyd at White County High School today for the grand finale of his statewide “Find Your Future” tour! 🍊✨

Each year, President Boyd travels across Tennessee to inspire high school students about the power of higher education and how programs like the UT Promise make earning a degree more affordable and accessible than ever. We are so proud that he saved the best stop for last right here in White County!

In addition to President Boyd, our students had the privilege of hearing from two distinguished UT System leaders. Dr. Artanya Wesley, Vice Chancellor at UTC, highlighted the 140+ academic programs available at UT Chattanooga while emphasizing what it means to join a campus that is "big enough to matter, but small enough to care." Dr. Melinda Arnold, President of UT Southern, shared the exciting hands-on learning, workforce-ready degree pathways, and close-knit campus community offered at UT's newest undergraduate campus in Pulaski.

To top it all off, our incredible WCHS band (directed by Mrs. Laiton Pigg who is a former Assistant Drum Major for the UT Pride of the Southland Marching Band) wrapped up the event the best way possible: with a performance of 𝘙𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘺 𝘛𝘰𝘱!

𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐖𝐂𝐌𝐒

White County was proud to host a visit for the 2026–27 Tennessee Rural Principals Network cohort at White County Middle School - Sparta, TN this week.

The visit was part of an in-person coaching session focused on “Seeing the School Mission in Every Classroom.” Throughout the visit, cohort members spent time in WCMS classrooms and engaged in conversations centered around school vision, expectations, school climate, and creating a strong culture of learning.

The visit also brought the experience full circle for WCMS Principal Mr. Montuka Murray, who was a member of the Tennessee Rural Principals Network cohort last year. Today, he had the opportunity to welcome this year’s cohort, which includes Assistant Principal Ms. Howard, and share the work taking place throughout the school.

We are thankful for opportunities like this to collaborate with educational leaders from across Tennessee and to showcase the great things our students, teachers, and staff at WCMS are doing each day!

White County Schools seeks public feedback on the district goals and TISA Accountability report for the 2026-2027 school year. T.C.A. § 49-3-112 requires each school district, starting in the 2023-24 school year, to submit an annual accountability report to the Tennessee Department of Education no later than November 1st. The report includes the district academic goals and TISA Accountability Report. The public feedback period will close on Thursday, October 8th, 2026. Your feedback is important to the continued growth and success of our district.

It's homecoming at several schools this week, and Bondecroft has been having fun!

Fourth grader Jaxon D. showed up ready to take the reins on "Dress Like a Teacher Day," dressed as our Director of Schools, Mr. Dronebarger. To celebrate his school spirit, Jaxon received the very first Mr. D Dollar ever issued! 💵✨ In our district's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, this special card is worth 5 PBIS dollars and can add up to redeem lots of fun incentives! We love when students bring so much energy and school spirit to our halls!

Thanks to a $1,000 Scholastic grant, BOB’s shelves are completely restocked for the fall with 410 new books!

We had a blast visiting Findlay yesterday evening! 40 wonderful students stopped by, showed off their great manners, and took home 2 books each to kickstart their home libraries.

Huge thanks to the Findlay team for hosting us!
