Riverview Gardens School District invites students, alumni, staff, area residents and community leaders to the Danforth Farewell Tour on Thursday, June 4, at Danforth Elementary School. The event offers a final opportunity for stakeholders to walk the halls of the building and share memories before its scheduled closure at the end of the 2025β2026 academic year.
The district will host two tour sessions to accommodate the community:
Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. β 10:30 a.m.
Afternoon Session: 4:00 p.m. β 5:30 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to take photos and videos throughout the site to document their personal history with the school. The district will also provide a dedicated space for individuals to share their favorite stories and reflections about Danforth Elementaryβs legacy within the Riverview Gardens community. ππ

Riverview Gardens High School Counseling Team hosted a Field Day celebration to recognize students who maintained 90% attendance or higher and earned a 3.0 GPA or above during the 3rd quarter. The event was filled with excitement, live music, Kona Ice, BBQ hot dogs and burgers, fun activities and an unforgettable raffle featuring amazing prizes for our deserving students.
Prizes included gaming chairs, Xbox gift cards, a TV, Hulu and Netflix gift cards, Xbox gaming consoles, Xbox headsets, and LEGOs. The day was truly a celebration of the hard work, dedication, and perseverance our scholars demonstrated throughout the quarter.
A special thank you goes out to our generous donors, Mr. Marlon Wharton and SRO Randal Dennis, for helping make this event possible. We would also like to give a special thank you to our DJ , Mr. Craig Nowden for providing the music and energy that helped make the event such a success.
Remember, attendance matters! Thanks to all the students for demonstrating continued excellence!
