If you’ve been in the plumbing trade at least 5 years, take a step toward your future by sitting for a Plumber Exam in Onondaga County. Plumbers working in the County must be licensed and registered. If you meet requirements, sitting for the Journeyman or Master Plumber Exam can take you to the next level in your career! 🛠️👍 Exams will be held Sat morning, Oct 31. Thanks to our friends at Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board. There are many reasons why to keep grass (and leaves in fall) out of the street, including fewer sewer clogs!

As mowing season is in full swing, grass clippings left on roadways can create hazardous conditions, particularly for motorcyclists and bicyclists. When wet, grass clippings can become as slippery as ice, increasing the risk of crashes and injuries. They can also clog storm drains and create additional roadway maintenance concerns.

Keep grass clippings out of the roadway and dispose of them properly to keep our roads safe!

Public Meeting Notice: Long Term Control Plan (LTCP) Public Input Session

The Onondaga County Department of Water Environment Protection (OCDWEP) invites the public to attend an upcoming presentation and public meeting to provide input on the Long Term Control Plan (LTCP).

Two identical public meetings will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Metropolitan Syracuse (Metro) Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) campus, Plant Operations Center (POC) 3rd Floor Conference Room, at the following times:

• 4:30 PM
• 6:00 PM

Community members are encouraged to attend either session to learn more about the LTCP, ask questions, and share input that will help inform the planning process. This meeting is part of the public participation process supporting development of the LTCP.
