This month’s Central New York Chapter of the Alliance for Retired Americans meeting featured great guest speakers, thoughtful conversation, and a strong sense of community. It is always inspiring to be in a room with people who care deeply about improving our communities, protecting workers, and supporting the labor movement.

These meetings are a great opportunity to connect, learn, and stay engaged on the issues impacting working families and retirees across our region.

The Central New York Chapter of the Alliance for Retired Americans meets every first Friday of the month at the NYSUT Headquarters in Syracuse, and the meetings are open to everyone. We hope to see even more folks join the conversation in the months ahead.

The Central New York Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO was proud to support our Greater Syracuse Labor Council at their Annual Labor Awards Dinner. It was a packed house as we came together to celebrate the hard work and achievements that move the labor movement forward.

Congratulations to all the award recipients, and thank you to NYS Attorney General Letitia James for serving as our featured speaker.

Our Cayuga Central Labor Council is officially back up and running!

Last week, our President Ann Marie Taliercio joined the newly appointed delegates in Auburn for their first meeting, sharing the critical role they play as part of the Central New York Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO.

This is an important step forward for building worker power in Cayuga County and across our region. We are excited to see the Cayuga CLC grow and continue to advance the labor movement in Central New York.

In solidarity.
