Today we remember and honor the courage and sacrifice of service members who never returned home.
To their families, we owe much gratitude for the loss they endured as they too made an incredible sacrifice.

In recognition of Earth Day this year our Board of Supervisors celebrated our UNESCO designation as the Channel Islands Biosphere Region and our place as an international model for the harmonious integration of conservation and sustainable development. Today we reaffirm our commitment to protecting the natural and cultural heritage of both our region and our planet for present and future generations.

🚨Community Meeting Announcement🚨
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting an in-person meeting from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Hollywood Beach Elementary School (4000 Sunset Lane, Oxnard, CA 93035).
This meeting will cover:
- Updates on Hollywood Beach mitigation, including that dune restoration is no longer proposed
- Information on the next dredging cycle planned for fall/winter 2026
- Community comments & Q&A
