You graduated. Life was good. Until it wasn't. Heartbreak crept in. Disappointment settled. Offense took hold. Bitterness grew a root. The fade was slow. Until it wasn't. Now shame has you. And the light feels far. But Jesus reaches into the deepest graves. No pit is too dark. No story is too broken. Come back to where everything changed. Spiritual Emphasis. Let the waters of His grace, freedom, and mercy make you new. You are not too far gone. Come home. We saved a seat for you. Remembering Rosie Weir – A Faithful Servant of the Lord

Dear Friends, Ministry Partners, and Supporters of Teen Challenge of Southern California,
It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of our dear sister in Christ, Rosie Weir, who went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2026, surrounded by her family. While we grieve, we take comfort in the truth of Scripture that tells us, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Rosie is now with the Savior she loved and served her whole life.

Rosie was a steadfast and willing servant of the Lord for many years. Long before she came on staff, she served as a devoted volunteer—teaching, mentoring, and humbly supporting the ministry behind the scenes. She witnessed the power of God at work in changed lives and gave herself fully to that calling.
Rosie was a constant presence in Teen Challenge, not only in Southern California, but around the world. She shared the Gospel in Serbia, Slovenia, Romania, Poland, and the Czech Republic, and also ministered in Kenya, Brazil, Iceland, Israel, and beyond. Wherever the Lord opened a door, Rosie went with a humble heart and a servant’s spirit.

In 2009, Rosie began serving on staff as the Director of Ventura/Tri-County Teen Challenge. Through her leadership, many women came to know Jesus Christ and experienced new life. She faithfully taught the Word of God, offered wise counsel, and poured herself into those God entrusted to her care. Her ministry reached the entire household of faith at Teen Challenge of Southern California, especially through Spiritual Emphasis and other gatherings.

Rosie was a wise woman because she feared the Lord, and from that reverence flowed wisdom anchored in Scripture. If you spent time with Rosie, you heard the truth of God’s Word spoken clearly and lovingly. She believed deeply that “you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,” and she lived it with quiet conviction.

In her final role, Rosie served as Senior Director of Women’s Ministry, overseeing all the women’s centers across Southern California. She led with humility, kept the Bible as the foundation, relied on the Holy Spirit, and remained unwavering in her commitment to seeing lives renewed through Jesus Christ.

We are grateful for the leadership Rosie helped raise up. For more than ten years, she mentored Elizabeth Goodban, who has served as the Manager of Operations at Ventura/Tri-County Teen Challenge since 2020. As Elizabeth continues to oversee the campus, we are confident the work Rosie stewarded will carry forward in the power of the Holy Spirit, with the same heart for the lost.

To our donors and ministry partners, thank you. Rosie deeply appreciated your prayers and support. Because of your partnership, this ministry moves forward. Our women’s centers are full, lives are being renewed, and hope is being restored every day.

Teen Challenge of Southern California remains committed to the same rhythm of outreach, evangelism, discipleship, community, and worship that marked Rosie’s life. Her legacy lives on in every life touched and every soul that encounters Jesus Christ.

Thank you for standing with us, praying with us, and continuing to support the work of God.

With gratitude and hope in Christ,
Ron Brown, Executive Director
Teen Challenge of Southern California
