At Pizitz, we are committed to continuous growth and strong partnerships with our parents. Each month, our teachers participate in Learning Walks—an approach modeled after medical rounds—where they observe one another, share effective strategies, celebrate great teaching, and reflect on ways to strengthen their practice. Today, we welcomed parents to experience a glimpse of learning at Pizitz by visiting classrooms and taking part in a debriefing activity. We love having visitors in our building!

Today at our Black History Program, we were honored to hear from Annetta Nunn, the first African-American woman to serve as police chief in Birmingham. Her story of leadership and perseverance inspired us all to pursue excellence in everything we do with strong character and hard work.

We were also blessed by the powerful voices of the Miles College Gospel Choir. Swipe to the end for a glimpse of what we had the privilege of experiencing!

In a world where hatred is often magnified in the media, we choose to be a place where difference are celebrated. We walked away with a deeper appreciation for our history and for each other!

There’s something special about learning from the people you work alongside every day. Yesterday’s professional development inspired our teaching, expanded our learning, and reminded us why we love what we do…with a little fun mixed in! Back at it today and so thankful for a district that pours into its people. ❤️💙🏴‍☠️

We wanted to give a big welcome home to Pizitz Competition Cheer who placed 3rd in the nation this past week in Orlando! This is the first time in Pizitz history that our competition cheer team made it to the finals! We are beyond proud of the girls and their coaches! Tell them congratulations when you see them! It’s great to be a Pizitz Pirate!!! ❤️💙🏴‍☠️

It’s Kindness Week! Our SGA, Peer Helpers and Ambassadors made sure every student and faculty member received a heart filled with kind words written by their peers. These walls are proof that kindness really does multiply and that our school community is such a special place to be. 💙❤️🏴‍☠️

A peek into the week! Debate went to Liberty Park to compete in an area match and won the Top School award. It’s Pitch In Week here at Pizitz and our Ambassadors greeted us with smiling faces! Computer Science took a field trip to Clear Winds Technologies here in Vestavia. And our teachers had fun in their matching outfits! We are proud of our students and staff! It’s great to be a Pizitz Pirate! ❤️💙🏴‍☠️
