Excellence . . . All Day! Every Day!

I am incredibly honored and excited to officially serve as the Principal of Lawrence E. Boone Elementary School in DC Public Schools. 🖤💛

Over the past 25 years in education, I have had the privilege of serving as a STEM educator, instructional coach, assistant principal, and school leader committed to ensuring that every child has access to high-quality instruction, strong relationships, and a supportive learning environment.

Boone ES is a special community filled with resilient students, dedicated educators, supportive families, and committed partners. After serving as Interim Principal this school year, I am grateful for the trust placed in me to continue leading this incredible school community forward.

As we continue this work together, I remain deeply committed to strengthening academic achievement, fostering a positive school culture, building strong family partnerships, and creating the conditions where both students and staff can thrive.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. I am excited for what lies ahead for Boone ES and our Panther community. 🐾

📣 Boone ES Families, DC CAPE Math Testing is happening this week for all 3rd–5th grade scholars on Wednesday, May 14 and Thursday, May 15! 🐾🖤💛

Please help your child arrive to school by 8:30 AM each morning so they have time to eat breakfast and arrive to testing on time. It is very important that students test with their assigned group on the actual testing day, as students typically do not perform as well on makeup tests.

We know our Panthers are ready to shine! 🌟 Scholars who earn proficient (grade-level) scores on their DC CAPE assessment will be celebrated during a special celebration in October!

Parents, thank you for being our partners in student success by:
✔️ Ensuring students get a good night’s sleep
✔️ Arriving to school on time
✔️ Encouraging students to do their very best

Together, we can achieve great things! 🐾

🖤💛 Tomorrow is Day 3 of DC CAPE ELA Testing for our Boone Panthers in grades 3–5! Please ensure your child arrives to school NO LATER than 9:00 AM ready to do their very best. Attendance is extremely important because students perform best testing with their classmates during the scheduled testing window. Students who earn proficient scores will be invited to a special celebration next school year! Thank you for partnering with us to support our Panthers! 🐾📚✨

First grade Panthers participated in a fun and highly engaging Eureka Math² lesson on patterns with Ms. Terry. Students used math manipulatives to create their own patterns and then participated in a gallery walk to explore their classmates’ work.

A huge shout-out to Ms. Terry for fostering a warm, positive, and highly conducive classroom environment where students can learn mathematics at high levels.

What a day at the DC CAPE Pep Rally! Thank you to our amazing cheerleaders for the welcome, and to everyone who joined the student-vs-staff showdown. One note: staff may have had the height—our school’s spirit was tall in every heart. 😊❤️

We hosted our first-grade animal adaptations presentations in the library last week, transformed into a wild safari by Ms. Norris, Ms. Israel, and Ms. Kulkarni, with several parents joining to listen, enjoy light refreshments, and participate in a lively Q&A session as our students shared their projects with confidence and curiosity.
