❤️ You never know when you could save a life - and our young people are stepping up.

Recently, DPR and brought Hands on Heart for Youth to Columbia Heights Community Center, giving teens the chance to learn lifesaving Hands‑Only CPR in a supportive, hands‑on environment. Participants learned proper hand placement, the right compression tempo, and why acting fast during a cardiac emergency can truly make all the difference.

Most cardiac arrests happen at home, at work, or out in public - and immediate CPR from a bystander can save a life. Empowering young people with these skills means building a safer, more confident, and more prepared community.

This training builds on our larger youth safety initiatives, including our FREE Babysitting & Child Safety Training, where teens ages 12–17 learn real skills that matter:
• CPR that works
• How to respond to choking
• Fire safety basics
• Calling 911 with confidence

Plus, participants can earn their Red Cross Babysitting Certification -at no cost.
Since launching our CPR awareness efforts, more than 143,000 individuals across the District have received Hands‑Only CPR training.

Thank you to every young person who showed up ready to learn how to protect and care for others. You’re helping build a safer DC, one skill at a time. ❤️

The 3rd Annual Toddler Multisports Day brought ALL the heat to Langdon Rec! ⚽🏐🏀

From baby exercise bikes to mini treadmills, basketball hoops to gymnastics—our future champions ran, jumped, tumbled, and crushed it all day long. 💪

We transformed the court into a full fitness & wellness hands-on expo complete with a hydration station and fuel-up popcorn.

But the REAL magic? Watching these young superstars explore and find new fitness journeys?! 🤷🤷‍♀️😉🌟

AND… the MOMS came to PLAY! 👑 Shoutout to all the moms who showed up and SHOT LIGHTS OUT in our parents’ 🏀 shootout—winning free birthday parties at Fort DuPont Ice Arena. You came ready to ball and we saw it! 🎯

This is what we do—create unique memorable moments for EVERY age. Because at DPR, there’s always something to do.
