Today, the West Columbia VFD, together with members of Old Ocean VFD and Wild Peach VFD, responded to a house fire in town. Thanks to their swift and coordinated efforts, the fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished—thankfully, with no injuries. The scene has now been turned over to the Brazoria County Fire Marshal’s Office for cause and origin. A huge thank you to all who responded—your teamwork is appreciated.

Glad to be able to help our neighbors. Please be mindful of weather conditions before lighting off those brush piles. Stay safe out there.

Brazoria County has lifted the burn ban. With that being said, please use caution while burning and don’t leave you open fires unattended. Stay safe out there.

It was an honor to pay tribute to former Fire Chief and longtime volunteer firefighter George Humphrey. His dedication and service to our department and community will not be forgotten
