It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Firefighter Scott Windover. Scott has been a member of the Wi******er Fire Company for 20 years serving as Fire Chief and Secretary. He was a great friend to many and someone you could rely on in any situation. Please keep Scott and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Information on services for Scott can be found at the link below.

Last night, members of Wi******er Fire Company joined Vigilant Fire Company for a fun and challenging joint drill focused on basic engine operations.

Crews from both departments were mixed together and worked through a relay-style course consisting of five different evolutions throughout the district, including ladder operations, hydrant hookups, pumping, hose line stretches, and a driver obstacle course. Each engine also had a fire police/safety officer following along to help keep operations safe and running smoothly.

One of the best parts of the night was having members from both departments work side by side with people they may not normally train with. Everyone brought different experience and skill sets to the table, making it a great opportunity to learn from one another while building stronger teamwork between our departments.

And we have to give our Wi******er crew a little credit — they finished second place with a time of 1 hour and 5 minutes!

A huge thank you to Vigilant Fire Company for putting together such a creative, hands-on drill and inviting us to participate. We appreciate the opportunity to train together and look forward to doing it again!
