On this day in history... covered by our friends at the Williston Herald. On this day in 1976, the North Dakota State Highway Department held a public hearing to explain proposed improvements to US Highway 2, mainly the creation of a four-lane highway for 12 miles, starting at the 13-mile corner.

Taken in 1920 from a location in Downtown Williston, the photo allows us to see Williston from the early 20's. Towards the top left of the picture, the Apostolic Church, located at 523 1st Ave W can be seen. Additionally, perching above the roofline, you can spot a large tower, which is the old high school and is where Elite Health and Fitness currently stands.
