This week, UWCM had the privilege of serving as Community Advisors at the 2026 Massachusetts Civics Project Showcase in Worcester.

Often described as a β€œscience fair for civics,” the showcase gave middle and high school students the chance to present community-based research and advocacy projects focused on issues that matter to them. From mental health and education to environmental and social concerns, students demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and a commitment to positive change.

At United Way, we believe young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are leaders today. We are grateful to Generation Citizen and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for creating spaces where youth can engage in civic life, develop leadership skills, and see the impact their voices can have.

Thank you to the students who shared their ideas and inspired us with their passion for making a difference.

πŸŽ“ Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

As college graduates begin new careers and high school graduates prepare for their next chapter, we celebrate not only their achievements but also the impact they've already made in our community.

From volunteering at local nonprofits to mentoring younger students and participating in service projects, so many graduates have demonstrated that leadership isn't just about what you accomplish, it's about how you lift others along the way.

To every graduate: thank you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to making a difference.

We can't wait to see where your journey takes you next. πŸ’™

Almost a month ago, we recognized May (the 4th) but we cherished the stories and data delivered by our nonprofit community partners.

Community Showcase, a reflection of resilience.

Special thank you to who orchestrated the entire showcase as our spring intern
