An emotional day of heavy sadness and joyous celebration down south. Visits to: Sderot, including a special visit from our great former Shaliach Aviv, The Nova Site, seeing a memorial of burnt cars from Oct. 7th, a visit to a family-run workshop at Kibbutz Karmiya, and the honor of sponsoring and enjoying a bbq with a very special IDF unit.

We’ve been busy: Yad Vashem, Mt. Herzl, Mahne Yahuda (just before Shabbat, packed with shoppers), a report on Israel’s politics and analysis of current events with journalist Gil Hoffman, Kotel, more Old City sites, learning about the beautiful YMCA building and the King David Hotel history, Havdallah at Montefiore’s windmill… and more! Wish you were here with us!

Saw the ambulance our community donated two years ago.

Also saw an ambulance donated in memory of a Holocaust survivor, that ambulance was riddled with bullets on Oct. 7.

Today Israelis are at the polls for the first time since the Oct. 7th attack. Analysts are predicting a tight race with Yashar led by Gadi Eisenkot, and Likud led by Bibi Netanyahu in the top two spots. Among the main ballot issues are: judicial reform, Oct. 7th investigations, and the Haredi draft bill. The expectation is that the winner will not hold enough seats to form a government without having other parties join as a coalition.
