No wrong door. That's the goal of Pennsylvania's coordinated behavioral health crisis response system.

This 988 Day, we're raising awareness that help is only a call, text, or chat away. Whether someone is experiencing a mental health crisis, feeling overwhelmed, or needs help finding substance use treatment, the crisis response system is designed to connect them with the right support.

If substance use treatment is identified as part of a caller's needs, 988 counselors can connect them directly to our Get Help Now Helpline (1-800-662-HELP/4357) for treatment and recovery resources.

As part of the Shapiro Administration's commitment to strengthening behavioral health services, Pennsylvania's 2026–27 budget includes the first-ever dedicated state funding for 988—supporting trained crisis counselors and reliable, 24/7 crisis support.

The Adams County DRUG TAKE BACK began in September 2010 as part of the national effort by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Local and state police partner with Collaborating For Youth (CFY), local government and environmental agencies, community volunteers and various health organizations to sponsor Adams County's Medication TAKE BACK at several locations throughout Adams County. Each medication TAKE BACK provides an opportunity for Adams County residents to dispose of unused or expired medications safely. The collection is free and no questions are asked.
