The Office took part in the Youth Day Commemoration outside FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, where they notified members of the public that the Military Ombud Act of 2012 allows them to file a formal complaint regarding the official conduct of SANDF members on duty.

The Office has commenced its Outreach Programme in Gauteng. This programme will see Office personnel visiting all military bases to inform uniformed members of the SANDF about the mandate and services of the Office. Among its key functions, the Office was established to assist both serving and former members of the SANDF who wish to lodge complaints regarding their conditions of service.

Military Ombud Lt Gen (Ret) Vusumuzi Masondo today moderated a session during the Commemoration of the 21 years of the Election of the First Ombudsman of Angola. In his introductory speech the Ombud said Justice in public administration is not merely a legal requirement, but a moral imperative that shapes trust between citizens and the State.

According to the Military Ombud Act of 2012. The Ombud may summon any person to submit an affidavit or affirmed declaration or to appear before him to give evidence or produce any document that has a bearing on the matter before him.
