Training Night Alert: Karkarook Park

On Monday 25 May between 7pm and 10pm, SES Glen Eira Unit and SES Moorabbin Unit will be running a joint scenario training exercise at Karkarook Park.

You may notice a large number of SES vehicles and members with red and blue flashing lights in the area as our volunteers keep their skills sharp and stay ready for when the community needs us most.

This Wednesday 20 May is WOW Day, the national day of recognition for Victoria State Emergency Service volunteers across Australia.

Here at Glen Eira SES, our volunteers give up their time day and night to support this community through storms, floods, and emergencies of all kinds. Wednesday is the day we celebrate that, and we'd love you to join in.

111 years on from the landing at Gallipoli, the spirit of the ANZACs continues to shape the way we serve our communities today.

This morning, members of Glen Eira SES attended the Bentleigh RSL Anzac Day service to pay our respects to those who have served, and those who continue to serve.

Anzac Day is a time to reflect on sacrifice, courage and community. We are proud to stand alongside our local community in honouring that legacy.

Lest we forget.

A great outcome and as always, fantastic to work with our neighboring units to help the community.

Last night, our volunteers were out in force assisting Victoria Police in the search for a missing elderly resident.

We are very happy to report that she was located after a passerby found her and safely dropped her off at the nearest police station. It’s a fantastic outcome for the community and a huge relief for her family.

A massive thank you to our dedicated members and the teams from SES Glen Eira Unit and SES Monash Unit who joined the search.

This is a core part of what we do. Beyond storms and floods, we work closely with VicPol on a frequent basis, providing specialist search capabilities to help bring missing persons home safely.
