Wonderful to attend the Italian National Day reception celebrating the 80th anniversary of the 🇮🇹 Republic, held at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra earlier this month.

It was a fitting occasion to recognise the enduring friendship between Australia and Italy, and to reflect on the generations of Italian migrants whose hard work, enterprise and community spirit have helped shape modern Australia.

Thanks to Ambassador Nicola Lener and his team at the Embassy of Italy in Australia for hosting such a memorable event.

The Embassy of Italy in Australia marked the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic with an official reception at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra. Honouring together the enduring bilateral relations and cultural ties between Italy and Australia.

Ambassador Lener met with Sen. Hon. Tim Ayres Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, to strengthen the already well developed Italy-Australia connection in research and innovation.
With the process of Australia association to Horizon Europe already at an advanced stage, the discussion was focused on developing a shared strategy to leverage on the existing connections for the cultural and economic growth of both nations.

It was an absolute pleasure and honour for the Embassy, represented by Ciro Carroccio – Head of Trade Office, to take part in the Victoria & EU Economic Forum in Melbourne, organised by FACCI - French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, in collaboration with the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the ICCI Melbourne and the La Camara, The Spanish-Australian Chamber of Commerce.

Great insights were shared on sustainability, technology and innovation alongside institutions and key industry experts. 🌍⚡🌱🤝
