Exciting Partnership Announcement!

We are delighted to announce our new partnership with Sam's Spares and would like to extend our sincere thanks for their generous support of our students.

Through this partnership, Sam's Spares has provided laptops that will play a vital role in supporting student learning and educational engagement. Access to technology is essential in today's learning environment, and these laptops will enable our students to access online learning resources, complete coursework, develop digital skills, and fully participate in their educational journey.

This partnership is a wonderful example of how community engagement and collaboration can create meaningful opportunities for young people. By working together, we can help remove barriers to learning and provide students with the tools they need to succeed.

We are incredibly grateful to Sam's Spares for their commitment to supporting education and investing in the future of our students. Their generosity will make a lasting difference in the lives of many young people.

On the 5th of June, Southern River College will be celebrating International Bike Day (and World Environment Day)!

Next Friday, students and staff alike will be encouraged to ride their bike to school.

Students will receive house points and enter the raffle to win:

-One of four $25 vouchers generously donated by Foothills Cycles.
-One of two bike locks (Valued at $50).

Breakfast club will be themed around the day, with free pancakes available to all students at the back of the wellbeing centre.

Staff who bike to work on the day will receive free coffee from the SRC Coffee Shop!

Yesterday we came together as a school community for our Reconciliation Assembly - a meaningful opportunity to reflect, learn and celebrate culture, connection and respect.

We were honoured to welcome our special guests Dr Elizabeth Hayden, Tony Hansen, Susan Clifford and Pat Morris, who helped make the occasion so memorable.

Our students proudly shared their talents through dance performances, demonstrating enthusiasm, respect and a wonderful spirit of reconciliation.

Thank you to everyone involved in creating such a special assembly and for helping us continue the journey of understanding and unity together.

Congratulations to our Southern River Year 7 students who recently participated in the 2026 Australian Geography Competition!

Held nationally in May, the competition challenges secondary students across Australia to demonstrate their geographical knowledge and skills through a series of online multiple-choice questions.

We are especially proud that in 2025, one of our students achieved an outstanding result by placing in the top 10% nationally — an incredible accomplishment! We are excited to see how our students perform this year and hope to celebrate another fantastic result in 2026.

Geography continues to be a valuable and engaging subject at our school and is offered in senior school as both a General and ATAR pathway. Through Geography, students develop a deeper understanding of the world around them and the important global issues shaping our future.

Well done to all students involved, and best of luck with this year’s results!
