WIRF & King Edward Memorial Hospital Op Shop Located on the lower ground floor of KEMH, the friendly volunteer run WIRF Op Shop stocks pre-loved clothing for babies and women.

All proceeds help our mission to support research for improved health of women, preterm birth and gynaecological diseases. The Women & Infants Research Foundation's (WIRF) Opportunity Shop at King Edward Memorial Hospital is a great place to grab a quality bargain or donate your nearly new baby and maternity items. Our Op Shop is located on the lower ground floor of the hospital near to the cashier. WIRF coordinates nearly 100 volunteers who work tirelessly to support the Foundation, the hospital and patients and Staff at King Edward Memorial Hospital. In addition to this, we have over 300 community knitters and sewers who make specialised garments for use in the hospital’s special care nursery, and comfort blankets for the oncology patients. Our Op Shop accepts pre-loved women's and babies clothing into a donation bin located outside the Op Shop. All donated, pre-loved items go a long way toward helping the patients of our hospital source much needed clothing for themselves and their babies, and assist WIRF to conduct essential research studies into women and infants health.

A little time can make a big difference. 💜

Our WIRF Op Shop is powered by an incredible community of volunteers who generously give their time, energy and enthusiasm — and bring plenty of fun and friendship along the way.

For our volunteers, it’s a chance to connect, contribute and be part of something meaningful. And every shift, every sale and every conversation helps support WIRF’s work to improve the health of women, babies and families.

We’re incredibly grateful for the people who make our Op Shop the special place it is.

Could you see yourself volunteering with us?
We’d love to hear from you. Find out more about volunteering with WIRF via the link in our bio.

Made by hand. Made with love. 💜🧶

How beautiful are these?

These bright, cosy blankets have been lovingly handmade and generously donated to be sold in our WIRF Op Shop — each one completely unique and created with care.

Perfect for keeping little ones warm, adding a splash of colour to a nursery, or giving as a thoughtful gift, they’re the kind of special find you simply don’t get everywhere.

And when you take one home, you’re not only supporting the work of WIRF — you’re taking home something made with love by someone in our community.

Pop in and find your favourite. 💜

Sometimes the thing you’re about to buy new is sitting on an op-shop shelf waiting to be discovered!

With new donations arriving regularly, it’s worth popping into the WIRF Op Shop before paying full price elsewhere.

You might save money, give something a second life and support women's and infants' health research at the same time!

That’s a pretty good shopping trip 🤑

Today, on Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day, we remember the little lives that were deeply loved, longed for and are never forgotten. 🤍

We acknowledge the parents and families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death and other forms of pregnancy and infant loss — and the grief that can continue long after a loss.

For some, today is a day to remember. For others, it is a day to speak a name, share a story, light a candle, or simply hold someone close in their thoughts.

To every family carrying the memory of a baby they could not bring home, we see you and we remember with you.

👶💙 Why buy pre-loved for baby?

Babies grow quickly, but quality clothing and accessories can be enjoyed long after they've outgrown them.

Choosing pre-loved helps reduce waste, saves money, and gives carefully loved items a second life. It's a simple way to shop more sustainably while finding great value for your growing family.

Even better, every purchase from the WIRF Op Shop helps support research that improves the health and wellbeing of women and babies.

♻️ Small choices can make a big impact.
