PHILIPPINE AIRLINES PAYS COURTESY VISIT ON THE PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL

SYDNEY, 18 June 2026 – Ms. Krystle Ramirez-Gastrock, Philippine Airlines (PAL) Country Head for Australia, paid a courtesy visit to officials of the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney and presented an overview of PAL’s products and services in the Australian market.

Ms. Krystle Ramirez-Gastrock was received by Consulate officials headed by Consul General Greg Marie C. Mariño, who welcomed the airline's continued commitment to enhancing travel and people-to-people exchanges between the Philippines and Australia. Discussions covered developments in PAL's operations, opportunities to further promote tourism and business links, and ways to further enhance cultural exchanges and community engagement.

The Philippine Consulate General expressed its appreciation for PAL’s role as the country's flag carrier and its contribution to improving accessibility and connectivity for Filipinos and Australians alike. PH EMBASSY, CONSULATE IN SYDNEY, NSW FILIPINO COMMUNITY CELEBRATE 128 YEARS OF PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE AT PHILIPPINENATIONAL DAY BALL 2026

SYDNEY, 12 June 2026 - The Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney joined the Filipino community at the Philippine National Day Ball 2026, organized by the Philippine Community Council of New South Wales (PCC NSW) in celebration of Philippine Independence.

The event was graced by Ambassador H.E. Antonio M. Morales and Hon. Mark Coure MP as Guests of Honour and brought together Filipino community leaders, youth representatives, business stakeholders, and partners from across New South Wales in a vibrant celebration of Filipino heritage, unity, and achievement.

The evening featured awe-inspiring cultural performances showcasing Filipino talent. The impressive display shows the richness of Philippine culture and how it thrives in multicultural Australia. A highlight of the program was the traditional Rigodon de Honor, where representatives from PCC NSW's affiliate organizations took part in a ceremonial dance symbolizing solidarity, friendship, and community spirit.

The ball reflected the Filipino community’s enduring pride in its heritage and its continuing contributions to the broader Australian community. END

PH CONSULATE DEEPENS PARTNERSHIP WITH FILIPINO COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS IN NSW

SYDNEY, 10 June 2026 - The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney convened a Town Hall Meeting with leaders and representatives of Filipino community organizations across New South Wales, providing an opportunity for the community to engage with newly arrived Philippine Consul General Greg Marie C. Mariño.

The meeting brought together representatives from various Filipino organizations to discuss community priorities, strengthen collaboration with the Consulate, and reaffirm the shared commitment to advancing the welfare of Filipinos in New South Wales while promoting Philippine culture and heritage in Australia.

In her remarks, Consul General Mariño acknowledged the longstanding contributions of Filipino community organizations and their role in strengthening people-to-people ties between the Philippines and Australia.

“Your dedication and service to our kababayan throughout the decades is truly commendable. Your efforts strengthen the Filipino community in New South Wales, and even beyond that, the broader social, cultural, and economic fabric of Australia,” she said.

The Consul General also highlighted the important role of Filipino organizations in fostering community engagement, cultural diplomacy, and public service, noting that their initiatives help deepen connections between the Philippines and Australia.

The Town Hall Meeting forms part of the Consulate’s continuing engagement with the Filipino community as it marks the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence and joins the Philippines and Australia in commemorating 80 years of diplomatic relations in 2026. END

PH CONSULATE CELEBRATES FILIPINO FILMS AT SYDNEY FILM FESTIVAL 2026

SYDNEY, 07 June 2026 - The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney attended the premiere screening of First Light at the Sydney Film Festival 2026 (SFF 2026), underscoring its support for Philippine and Filipino-Australian storytelling on the international stage.

During the event, Consul General Greg Marie C. Mariño met First Light star Ms. Ruby Ruiz, producer Ms. Christelle Lou Dychangco, and director Mr. James Robinson. In introducing the film, Mr. Robinson paid tribute to its Filipino-Australian roots, highlighting First Light as a successful Philippine-Australian co-production that reflects the growing collaboration between the two countries' creative industries.

On the same evening, the Consul General and members of the Consulate team also attended the screening of Filipiñana, another Filipino production featured in SFF 2026. The participation of both films in one of Australia's premier film events showcased the richness of Filipino storytelling and the increasing visibility of Filipino talent in the international film community.
