What a great month of May to kick off the summer season, some of our highlights include✨:

🌹Attending the Toronto Rose of Tralee Ball –congratulations to the new Toronto Rose Kylie Paliani! (📸 Alexi – Open Eye Studio).

🤝 Meeting astronaut Col. Chris Hadfield, hockey legend Dr. Hayley Wickenheiser, Consul General of Mexico Amb. Iván Roberto Sierra Medel and Mayor of Kingston Ontario Brian Paterson.

🎭 Attending CIF’s Bealtaine Theatre Festival, an inspiring lecture by Irish author Colm Tóibín and a brilliant stage adaptation of “Finnegan’s Way” by Craig Walker.

🔑Accompanying the Canada Ireland Foundation’s founder Robert Kearns as he received a Key to the City of Toronto.

📖 Attending the presentation of Anakana Schofield newest book “Library of Brothel: a novel” at the Toronto Public Library.

🎓 Visiting Guelph-Humber University and discussing Ireland’s Peace Process with students.

🇪🇺 Speaking at EUCCAN’s EU-Canada Business Forum and the presentation of the “Kindred Spirits” exhibition highlighting contributions by Indigenous communities in Canada to Irish famine relief in the 1840s.

☘️ Meeting our friends at the The Irish Club of Mississauga, visiting the Irish Pavilion at the Carassagua Festival of Cultures.

Today on International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia – we take the time to reflect on the inexcusable violence and discrimination experienced by 2SLGBTQI+ people. Ireland works to promote and protect 2SLGBTQI+ rights both at home and around the world. 🌈☘️

This afternoon, I had a constructive meeting with John Hannaford, Canadian Prime Minister Carney’s Special Representative to the EU, ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit to Dublin in June 🇨🇦🇪🇺

We discussed the evolving Canada-EU relationship and opportunities for deeper cooperation across trade, security, and wider strategic priorities.
