🕊️Today, on 5 May, we celebrate the absence of war, the restoration of the constitutional state after the Second World War and the fact that it enables us to live in freedom. Festivities are held throughout the Netherlands over the course of the day.

Today, May 4th, it is Remembrance Day.
During the national commemoration of Remembrance Day we remember all – civilians and soldiers – who have been killed or murdered in the Kingdom of the Netherlands or anywhere else in the world in war situations or during peacekeeping operations since the outbreak of the Second World War.

✨Today our ambassador was invited to talk in a panel discussion on local change and sustainable urban mobility!
🚲 “Riding a bicycle isn’t in our DNA” said. The switch from a car dominated urban space to a pedestrian and cyclist friendly city needs activists who claim back the public space: That’s what we learned from the the big change that happened in the Netherlands in the 1970s, through which we became a bike dominated nation!
🌱Safer and more climate friendly ways of transportation are needed, the demand for change is out there! Now it’s up to the support of local and national policymakers to make this change actually happen!
