MRWA takes a lead in advocating waste prevention, recycling and the safe and effective disposal of household waste for Merseyside’s residents.

| Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority is looking to appoint a Community Engagement and Reuse Officer to deliver the annual Zero Waste Community Fund programme and help develop a stronger reuse culture across the Liverpool City Region (LCR).
This post is offered on a fixed-term basis for up to 10 months to provide maternity cover, from September 2026 to June 2027 inclusive.

Live in Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton or Wirral? Please keep bagged waste out of the household recycling bin. Even if the bag contains recyclable items, it cannot be separated at the recycling facility meaning it has to be removed and disposed of.

Batteries are the leading cause of fires in bins. Next time you have batteries to get rid of, stop and think because you could be putting real people in danger when your bin is collected.
Instead recycle them safely at a Recycling Centre or large shop.
