NOTICE OF TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE MANAGED BY CHESHIRE EAST HIGHWAYS

Where? London Road South/London Road, Poynton West and Adlington Ward, Poynton, SK12 1LQ from First Avenue to Wooley Avenue.

When? Wednesday 11th November 2026 to Thursday 12th November 2026.

Why? The closure is necessary for Cheshire East Highways to carry out prep works for surface dressing.

🎃DID YOU PLANT A PUMPKIN WITH US DURING THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS?🎃

We'd love to see how they have grown!

As part of our 'Pop-Up and Make Stuff' sessions in the town, we repotted pumpkin plants for Halloween outside The Greener Grocer Poynton. So many of you came! We planted some late growing, small varieties called 'Baby Bear', which should have grown into some cute little pumpkins perfect for putting on display.

END STAGE DEMENTIA TALK

East Cheshire Hospice are hosting a talk for family carers who are supporting a loved one living with dementia and would like to know more about the end stage of dementia. Poynton’s session is at Poynton Civic Hall on Thursday 5th November, 10.30am - 12.30am. To book a free place telephone East Cheshire Hospice on 01625 666990.

391 BUS DIVERSION: CLUMBER ROAD

We have been advised on the following by Belle Vue Coaches.

'Clumber Road in Poynton has now closed until 30th Oct.

For the duration of the closure service 391 will be diverting via Dickens Lane, London Road South & Park Lane in both directions. The Vernon Infant & Junior School bus stops will not be served for the duration of the closure.'
