Update: 1/11 at 1pm
Government officials and operational partners have met today to review the response to the unauthorised drone activity around Jersey Airport over the past two evenings.
The safety of passengers, aircrew and the public remains our overriding priority. All relevant agencies continue to work closely together, and discussions are under way with UK counterparts and specialist agencies about what further support and capability may be available.
Officials are also working together on the arrangements for this evening, including measures to reduce the risk of further disruption and minimise the impact on passengers should there be any further drone activity.
Agencies will remain vigilant and prepared to respond.
The police investigation to establish who is responsible and the circumstances behind these incidents remains ongoing. We urge Islanders to remain vigilant and ask anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact the States of Jersey Police. People should not approach anyone they believe may be operating a drone.
We understand that these incidents have caused concern as well as significant disruption for passengers and their families. People can be reassured that the situation is being treated extremely seriously and that agencies continue to work closely together.
There are no medical flights scheduled for this evening and medical passengers affected by the disruption over the past two days are being prioritised on flights as services allow.
We will continue to keep Islanders updated if there are any significant developments.
