🎉 Celebrating 10 years of the Business Partnership Facility!
On Monday, we had the pleasure of celebrating a major milestone: 10 years of the Business Partnership Facility (BPF). Bringing together companies, institutions and ecosystem actors, the event provided an opportunity to look back on a decade of collaboration, lessons learned and tangible results.
Over the past 10 years, the BPF has supported close to 60 innovative projects, mobilised over EUR 15 million in public and private investment, contributed to the creation of 2,200+ jobs, and reached more than 100,000 people through business-driven development initiatives.
💡 Beyond the numbers, what have we learned from 10 years of the BPF?
✅ Impact starts with the right partnerships. The most successful projects bring together the entrepreneurial drive of EU-based companies and the market knowledge, networks and expertise of local partners.
✅ A strong ecosystem creates stronger projects. Beyond individual partnerships, Luxembourg's ecosystem of public institutions, business support organisations and innovation actors plays a crucial role in helping companies access information, navigate new markets, build the right connections and scale their impact.
✅ The ambition is growing. Applications have nearly tripled in just two years, while projects are setting increasingly ambitious objectives in terms of people reached and lives improved.
✅ Impact remains the focus. Innovation is a means to an end: addressing real-world challenges and creating lasting benefits for communities and local economies.
📸 The anniversary exhibition brought these lessons to life, showcasing BPF-supported initiatives from around the world. From sustainable agriculture to financial inclusion and job creation, each project illustrated the same ambition: using business as a force for sustainable development.
🙏 A heartfelt thank you to Minister Xavier Bettel, our partner organisations, speakers, participating companies and everyone who joined us to celebrate this anniversary and contribute to the discussions. Special thanks to the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, the LHoFT, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Luxinnovation, the Ministry of the Economy, and all members of the BPF community who have helped make this journey possible.
Ten years on, the BPF has evolved, matured and expanded its reach. Yet its purpose remains unchanged: harnessing the power of entrepreneurship and innovation to deliver sustainable development impact.
🚀 Here's to the next decade of building bridges between business and development.
