The UNRWA delegation visit to Luxembourg this week provided an opportunity for constructive exchanges on the agency’s work and the challenges it faces.

In a world of growing instability, strengthening global resilience is more important than ever.

At this week’s Foreign Affairs Council on Development, Luxembourg and its EU partners discussed how to better leverage various tools ,including the Global Gateway strategy, in a context of increasing needs and diminishing ODA resources.

The Council adopted conclusions guiding its engagement in so-called fragile contexts. These include strengthening institutions, improving access to basic services, and creating economic opportunities; all essential drivers to building lasting stability.

As part of Team Europe, Luxembourg continues to back partnerships that empower people on the ground and help shape sustainable futures.

With over one million people displaced in Lebanon, the MAE, Luxembourg's operational arm organised the deployment of emergency stockpiles from Luxembourg 🇱🇺 to Beirut 🇱🇧.

Using the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid's Humanitarian Air Bridge ✈️, emergency.lu airlifted essential shelter and household items to support displaced families.

Together with IOM - UN Migrationand the European Commission, emergency.lu deliver shelter, household essentials, and hope to those in need.

Luxembourg steps up in every crisis, because no one should be left behind.

🇱🇧 A 7th EU Humanitarian Air Bridge reached Lebanon, to provide assistance to those most in need.

Supplies include 41 tonnes of health and shelter supplies from World Health Organization (WHO), humedica e.V., UNFPA, France Diplomatie, Gouvernement luxembourgeois, IOM - Regional Office Middle East and North Africa and the EU's own stocks.
