The Victim Support Agency, together with the SRT, is providing support and assistance to those affected in today’s Imqabba incident.

The Agency appeals to the public and the media to exercise prudence and sensitivity given undergoing police investigations and to refrain from speculation or the sharing of unverified information.

During this difficult time, we encourage everyone to respect the privacy and dignity of those affected and the people involved.

On Mental Health Day, we are reminded of the importance of compassion, understanding, and emotional well-being, especially for individuals who have experienced trauma, abuse, violence, or other difficult life circumstances.

We recognise that healing is a journey, and every person deserves to feel heard, supported, respected, and safe. We encourage everyone to break the stigma surrounding mental health, reach out for support when needed, and remember that no one has to face their struggles alone.

Let us continue to create a society where seeking help is met with kindness, where every voice matters, and where healing and hope are always possible. 💚

‼️Let’s put humanity before headlines, dignity before sensationalism, and compassion before curiosity ‼️

Behind every headline is a human life, a loved one, and a family facing unimaginable loss. Reporting on matters of public interest is important, but it should never come at the expense of dignity, compassion, and respect.

Victim Support Agency calls for responsible reporting that recognises the person behind the story and the impact on those left behind. Let us remember that every victim deserves to be treated with humanity, and every family deserves the space and respect to grieve.

Call VSA on 116 006 or visit victimsupportagency.com if you require support, advice and information on how to deal with such situations.

The Victim Support Agency organised a Victim Support Network meeting, bringing together several key stakeholders to discuss how we can continue to improve and strengthen support for victims.
Creating a space for open dialogue and collaboration is essential to identifying challenges, sharing good practices, and ensuring that victims’ rights are respected, protected, and safeguarded throughout their journey.
Working together, we can build a stronger, more responsive support system that places the rights, dignity, safety, and wellbeing of victims at its centre.
