REMEMBERING A LIFE OF SERVICE |
The Governor of the Khomas Region, Sam Nujoma, has remembered the late former First Lady of the Republic of Namibia, Madame Penehupifo Pohamba, for her lifelong dedication to public health and service to the nation.
Ahead of the memorial service held at Parliament Gardens in Windhoek on Saturday, Governor Nujoma reflected on Madam Pohamba’s enduring commitment to serving Namibians, which continued beyond the liberation struggle, Namibia’s independence and her tenure as the country’s Second First Lady.
“What will stay with me the most is that she continued doing what she loved in service to our nation,” Governor Nujoma said.
A professional nurse and midwife, Madam Pohamba remained committed to improving healthcare and the well-being of Namibians long after her tenure as First Lady, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication and public service.
Her life and contributions are remembered under the theme, “A Life of Service, Love and Dedication.”
