Kumander namin yan!

Ludivena Lagrio is a History Professor at the Mindanao State University–General Santos City Campus and a member of the Mindanao Histories and Studies Advocacy Group. Through her work in education and historical studies, she helps promote deeper understanding of Mindanao’s diverse histories, identities, and peace narratives.

She participated in the “Fundamentals of Conflict Sensitivity and Transformation” course at the 2026 Mindanao Peacebuilding Institute (MPI) Annual Peacebuilding Training in Davao City last 18-22 May 2026 .

The course explores the concepts of conflict, violence, and peace through participants’ lived experiences and established peacebuilding frameworks. It equips participants with foundational skills in conflict analysis, conflict sensitivity, and conflict transformation using participatory approaches such as discussions, simulations, and arts-based learning.

This opportunity will further strengthen Ludivena’s capacity to integrate peacebuilding and conflict-sensitive approaches into her teaching, research, and community engagement work.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊| IPURPEACE 2026 showcased nine (9) shortlisted project pitches by MSU–Gensan FPE 101 students, which were presented and defended by their class representatives during the Champions For Peace held at the RSRC yesterday, May 24, 2026.

By unanimous decision of the judges, HAPAGKAPAYAPAAN, a project aimed at empowering the Badjao community, was declared the IPURPEACE Champion 2026 and also received the Best Presenter Award. A Special Award for Best Poster Making was also conferred on TIMBANG KAPAYAPAAN PROJECT.

These projects clearly demonstrate how FPE 101 as a subject has helped students become more socially aware, empathetic, and responsive to real-world issues. The initiatives reflect the students’ understanding of positive peace and highlight the importance of informed, compassionate, and inclusive actions in the pursuit of lasting peace.

LOOK! Resilience and social cohesion were tested on the first night of the Champions for Peace.

As heavy rain poured during the welcome night salvo hosted by IPDM, the experience became a living lesson in resilience. Despite the downpour, the program continued undeterred. Social cohesion shone through as participants and facilitators remained united, standing together until the rain finally eased.

Peace, indeed, is never easy. There will always be challenges,. Spoilers along the way but they will never be a hindrance to attaining peace.

Tonight reminded us that peace is built not in comfort, but in perseverance, solidarity, and shared commitment.

Thank you Congressman Steve Chiongbian Solon for your support to our young peace champions!

Salamat din po sa Kabpapagariya Ensemble !
