Ang 𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗢𝗚, 𝙣𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙜 at 𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙗𝙞 para masiguro ang abot-kayang serbisyo para sa bawat Pilipino!

When I convened the onboarding session for the Permanent and Alternate Designees of the Committee on Higher and Technical Education to the Governing Boards of our State Universities and Colleges, I made one thing clear from the outset: governance must be anchored on a shared vision, and that vision must be translated into action.

Our 10-point Higher Education Legislative Agenda stands as a firm commitment of service—not only to our institutions, but to every Filipino student and family who place their hopes in education.

This onboarding session was designed to ground our designees in these shared priorities. In partnership with CHED, PASUC, and NASUC, we worked to align policy with practice, and leadership with accountability. very decision made in our governing boards carries weight—it shapes institutions, opens opportunities, and helps define the future of our learners.

Sa bawat hakbang, dala natin ang tiwala ng ating mga mag-aaral. At sa tiwalang ito, patuloy tayong makikinig at magsisilbi at may malinaw na layunin para sa kinabukasan ng edukasyon sa ating bansa.

The signing into law of 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟐𝟑𝟏𝟓 marks an important step in sustaining the work of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II). The extension of the Commission’s mandate allows the continued monitoring and guidance of long-term reforms across basic, higher, and technical education, ensuring that momentum for improving the Philippine education system is maintained.

We sincerely thank President Bongbong Marcos for signing the measure and recognizing the importance of sustained education reform. We also acknowledge the support of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, EDCOM II Director Karol Mark Yee, my fellow commissioners, partner agencies, and stakeholders, whose collaboration ensures these reforms continue to strengthen the country’s education sector.

Education reform is not a short-term undertaking. It requires sustained effort, careful coordination, and long-term vision. Extending the mandate of EDCOM II allows us to continue this work and ensure that reforms translate into real improvements in learning outcomes and opportunities for Filipino students.

Together, the goal remains clear: to build a stronger education system and expand opportunities for every Filipino learner.
