Competing against 𝟑𝟔 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧, our team’s dedication to mental health advocacy truly stood out. After a rigorous competition, they emerged as the 𝙂𝙍𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙒𝙄𝙉𝙉𝙀𝙍 in the 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙖-𝙏𝙖𝙤 𝘿𝙚𝙥𝙀𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙑𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙤𝙧𝙮!

𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐃 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓 𝐜𝐮𝐦 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐉𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍!

The Surigao City Division proudly participated in the 3rd Caraga Regional Child Protection Summit cm Regional Project Pitching Competition held on February 25–27 at Amontay Beach Resort.

The summit gathered student leaders from all twelve (12) Schools Division Offices across the Caraga Region, with the Division Federated Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD), and Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) Presidents in attendance. The three-day engagement served as a platform for young leaders to deepen their commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environments.

Aligned with the Department of Education’s core values—Makadiyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa—the summit featured comprehensive discussions on Child Protection and Advocacy, including Drug Substance Abuse Awareness, Anti-Bullying Initiatives, and OSAEC-CSAEM Awareness, among other relevant and pressing concerns affecting today’s youth.

Highlighting the second day of the event was the 2026 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, where the delegation from Surigao City Division emerged as 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐎𝐍 in the Makatao Category. This remarkable achievement was made possible through the guidance of Coach Marie Christy B. Arcamo and the exemplary efforts of student participants Jazmine Orot, Leeann Ellar, and Juanne Luego.

This milestone reflects the unwavering dedication of Surigao City’s young leaders in championing child protection, upholding DepEd’s core values, and advancing meaningful initiatives for the welfare of every learner.

𝐒𝐃𝐎 𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐎 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐍 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝟑!🚌

Day 2 of the Learners’ Convergence Year 3 further strengthened the spirit of collaboration and excellence among the newly elected student leaders of the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Barkada Kontra Bisyo (BKB), and Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) across the Schools Division of Surigao City.

The second day centered on learning through benchmarking, as participants explored and drew inspiration from the existing initiatives and best practices of fellow student governments from other high schools. It became a meaningful exchange of ideas—proof that innovation flourishes when young leaders learn from one another.

Four insightful and timely sessions enriched the day’s convergence. 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐅𝐒𝐒𝐋𝐆 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐊𝐞𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫 𝐂. 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐬 led a session on Effective Communication, Conflict Resolution, and Social Responsibility as Student Leaders, emphasizing integrity and accountability in service. 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐆. 𝐏𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐜𝐨𝐥 guided participants in Writing Effective Resolutions, equipping them with the technical competence to transform ideas into actionable policies. Raising awareness on pressing child protection concerns, 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐧 𝐋. 𝐇𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐧 discussed OSAEC and CSAEM Awareness, reminding everyone of their responsibility to safeguard their peers. Lastly, 𝐑𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐲 𝐆. 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐟𝐨 empowered the learners through a session on Youth Engagement in Combating Misinformation, calling on student leaders to become proactive defenders of truth in the digital age.

This successful convergence would not have been possible without the steadfast leadership and dedication of our Division Youth Formation Coordinators, 𝐌𝐚’𝐚𝐦 𝐉𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐜𝐨𝐥 and 𝐌𝐚’𝐚𝐦 𝐊𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥, whose vision and guidance continue to cultivate empowered, values-driven student leaders in Surigao City.

As LearnCon Year 3 comes to an end, Day 2 stands as a testament that leadership is not merely about holding positions—it is about sharing knowledge, uplifting one another, and committing to purposeful action for our schools and communities.💙💛

The first day of the 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 successfully gathered the newly elected student leaders of the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Barkada Kontra Bisyo (BKB), and Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) from all 22 high schools of the Schools Division of Surigao City at the Division Training Center, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City, last February 19, 2026.

More than an assembly, the first day served as a meaningful space for connection, collaboration, and capacity-building. Our young leaders were given the opportunity to acquaint themselves with fellow changemakers across schools, fostering unity and camaraderie grounded in shared purpose and service.

The day was marked by insightful workshops and seminars focused on Learner Voices for Inclusive Schools, emphasizing the importance of representation, empathy, and safe learning spaces. Participants also engaged in discussions on Student Leaders Balancing Academics, Responsibilities, and Mental Well-being—an essential reminder that leadership thrives not only in competence, but in self-care and balance. Further strengthening their advocacy, the session on Youth Leadership in Environmental Action empowered them to become proactive stewards of sustainability within their respective campuses and communities.

As we conclude Day 1, we celebrate the passion, dedication, and promise of Surigao City’s student leaders. This convergence is not only a training ground—it is a testament that when learners unite with purpose, meaningful change begins.✊

Education is on the move! The 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 is officially rolling out Class 001, bringing relevant, timely, and youth-centered learning straight to our students. This initiative is set to reach schools within Surigao City, ensuring that learning goes where the youth are.

This course will focus on 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘅𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 (𝗢𝗦𝗔𝗘𝗖) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝘅𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 (𝗖𝗦𝗔𝗘𝗠). In light of the fire earlier today in Barangay Taft, Surigao City, the Division Federated Supreme Secondary Learner Government of Surigao City is conducting a donation drive to aid our fellow Surigaonons. Many families have lost their homes, belongings, and sense of security in just a matter of hours. As one Surigaonon community, let us stand together and extend our help to those who need it the most.

We humbly call on students, parents, teachers, and kind-hearted individuals to share whatever they can—water, clothes, food, hygiene kits, or monetary assistance. Every small act of generosity can bring comfort and hope to the affected families as they begin to rebuild their lives. Your support will go a long way in reminding them that they are not alone.
