This refers to several reports regarding individuals posing as persons officially affiliated with the Department through unauthorized use of logo and name of the DILG and the National Barangay Operations Office (NBOO) in letterheads and in email communications.

This quarter’s meeting served as a comprehensive platform for policy updates, security assessments, and inter-agency collaboration. The council continues to convene to assess the peace and order situation and strengthen collaborative efforts. By unifying our strategies, we move closer toward a safer, more resilient, and more progressive Surigao City.

To ensure a comprehensive and efficient assessment, two teams conducted simultaneous validations across the islands, focusing on three components of the 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆 𝐌𝐂 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒-𝟎𝟓𝟗:

The 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 (𝐂𝐕𝐀𝐓) composed of personnel from the 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐏𝐍𝐏, 𝐁𝐅𝐏, and the 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞, convened for a comprehensive orientation. The team is preparing for the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 covering all 𝟓𝟒 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐬 of Surigao City.

The momentum continued with a Focused Group Discussion (FGD) involving the 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 (𝐈𝐌𝐓𝐅) in preparation for the upcoming 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝-𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐂𝐅𝐋𝐆𝐀).

Key objectives of the session included: 𝟏) Providing crucial updates on policies, guidelines, and the use of the Knowledge Management System (KMS) for the 2026 implementation; 𝟐) Ensuring a unified understanding of indicators, assessment tools, and timelines; and 𝟑) Strengthening coordination between the DILG, partner agencies, and the LGU for a more effective assessment process.

By streamlining our validation protocols and monitoring tools, we remain committed to fostering cleaner, safer, and more child-friendly communities for all Surigaonons.

The 54 barangays of Surigao City successfully held their 1st Semester Barangay Assembly Meetings during Saturdays and Sundays of March. These events were conducted with the close supervision and monitoring of the DILG-Surigao City personnel, under the leadership of the dedicated CLGOO Roberto E. Patayon.
​The assemblies focused on the State of the Barangay Address (SOBA), the Local & National Programs Advocacy, the Barangay Financial Reports and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Accomplishments.
This citywide milestone reflects the hard work of all Barangay Officials headed by their respective Punong Barangays and the tireless dedication of the DILG personnel in upholding the principles of transparent governance.
