Spiritual Sunday ๐Ÿ™โฃ
โฃ
Psalm 149:4 (NASB 1995)โฃ
โ€œFor the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.โ€โฃ
โฃ
God doesnโ€™t take pleasure in you because youโ€™ve mastered life. He takes pleasure in you because you belong to Himโ€”and because salvation is already yours in Christ. The โ€œbeautifyingโ€ isnโ€™t you dressing up to impress God; itโ€™s God bringing rescue that actually transforms how you stand, even if you feel afflicted. Jesus finished salvation once for all, so your identity isnโ€™t hanging on your latest stumble (Hebrews 10:10,14; Colossians 2:13โ€“14).โฃ
โฃ
Notice the phrase โ€œafflicted ones.โ€ God isnโ€™t only interested in happy stories. Heโ€™s interested in the people carrying weightโ€”then He covers them with His salvation. That means your heart doesnโ€™t have to audition for love; it can receive it. Grace doesnโ€™t start with โ€œfix yourself,โ€ it starts with โ€œyouโ€™re acceptedโ€โ€”and then grace teaches you how to live (Titus 2:11โ€“12).โฃ
โฃ
So if youโ€™re tired, donโ€™t hideโ€”come close. Let the truth about Godโ€™s pleasure calm your soul. As you trust Jesus, His life within you produces the kind of strength that looks like courage, peace, and love. Thatโ€™s how the afflicted get โ€œbeautifiedโ€: not by fear-driven effort, but by salvation thatโ€™s actually working in you (Romans 8:1; Galatians 5:22โ€“23).โฃ

2 ARAW NA LANG bago ang National ICT Month 2026! ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ’ป

๐Ÿ›ตโ›ฝ DICT Joins Forces With DSWD Eastern Visayas For Simultaneous Distribution Of โ‚ฑ5,000 Cash Relief Assistance To Eastern Visayas Delivery Riders

TACLOBAN CITY, EASTERN VISAYAS (May 27, 2026) โ€” The simultaneous distribution of Cash Relief Assistance (CRA) to beneficiaries under the Private Express and/or Messengerial Delivery Service (PEMEDES) sector was successfully conducted on May 27, 2026, across various provinces and cities in Eastern Visayas.

This significant initiative was spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in close coordination with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), concerned Local Government Units (LGUs), and private partner companies to ensure the efficient, transparent, and accountable delivery of financial assistance to qualified beneficiaries.

The CRA payout aims to provide immediate financial support to delivery riders and messengerial service workers who continue to face increasing fuel prices and rising operational costs while delivering essential services to communities.

Out of the 2,855 PEMEDES beneficiaries across Eastern Visayas, the following recipients successfully received assistance during the May 27 simultaneous rollout:

๐Ÿ“ 1,124 beneficiaries in Tacloban City (Tacloban City Convention Center / Astrodome)
๐Ÿ“ 402 beneficiaries in Ormoc City, Leyte (Superdome Ormoc)
๐Ÿ“ 536 beneficiaries in Samar Province (comprising 273 in Calbayog City and 263 in Catbalogan City)
๐Ÿ“ 346 beneficiaries in Eastern Samar (Borongan City)
๐Ÿ“ 157 beneficiaries in Northern Samar (Catarman)
๐Ÿ“ 202 beneficiaries in Southern Leyte (comprising 132 in Sogod and 70 in Maasin City)
๐Ÿ“ 88 beneficiaries in Biliran (Naval)

Each qualified beneficiary received โ‚ฑ5,000 cash assistance to help ease the financial burden brought about by the countryโ€™s ongoing energy-related economic challenges.

DICT Ensures Seamless Digital Support Across Simultaneous Distribution Sites
To support the region-wide simultaneous payout operations, the DICT deployed its technical teams across multiple distribution areas to establish and maintain stable, high-speed internet connectivity at each designated payout site. This ensured uninterrupted coordination and synchronized operations throughout the region.

In addition to providing technical infrastructure, the DICT was also responsible for validating and certifying the final roster of qualified beneficiaries. By cross-matching official databases and filtering the submitted registered rider lists, the agency ensured that the financial aid was accurately directed to legitimate PEMEDES workers, preventing duplication and ensuring accountability in the distribution process.

Representing DICT Regional Office VIII during the main payout activity at the Tacloban City Convention Center (Astrodome) in Tacloban City was Assistant Regional Director Atty. Lovely Mei Dela Cruz, on behalf of OIC Regional Director Atty. Melvyn Carlo T. Barroa. On the part of the DSWD, the operations were closely supervised by Division Chief Marichu E. Bustillos and Irene Permejo, Social Welfare Officer IV from the Crisis Intervention Section (CIS).

By combining DSWDโ€™s social protection programs with DICTโ€™s digital infrastructure and technical expertise, the government continues to demonstrate the value of digitally enabled public serviceโ€”delivering faster, more reliable, and transparent assistance to the transport and delivery workers who help keep the regional economy moving.
