🌟📚🔬🍳 Learning Beyond the Classroom @ Greendale 🌟
At Greendale, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when students are given opportunities to apply their knowledge, creativity and values in authentic settings. 💚
Over the past weeks, our students have been actively involved in competitions and hands-on learning experiences across different subjects.
🔬 Science Department
Congratulations to our students who represented Greendale at the National STEM Championship 2026 held at Science Centre Singapore:
• Dhulipalla Kavya Sree (3B)
• Muhammad Qushairy Bin Azahari (3B)
• Ashton Ong Zhi Yong (3D)
• Maya Murch (3G)
Through the competition, students developed critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving skills while representing the school on a national platform. 🌱
📚 English Department
Our finalists in the Storycrafter’s Odyssey Competition 2026 explored digital-age themes through storytelling, poster design and language challenges:
• Lim Yu Xin (3G)
• Ong Kai Hui (3D)
• Tay Wei En Ashlynn (3A)
• Chen Yilei Cheryl (3F)
• Maegan Hoh Wen Xin (3H)
• Gabriella Tjong (3D)
We are proud of how they demonstrated creativity, confidence and teamwork throughout the competition journey. ✨
🍳 Food & Consumer Education (FCE)
As part of the Healthy Eating Campaign, students participated in a Healthy Hearty Spuds cook-out session where they learned basic cooking skills and the importance of preparing nutritious snacks. 👩🍳👨🍳
Some students even brought their baked potatoes home to share with their families — turning learning into a meaningful family experience. ❤️
💬 Parents, we encourage you to chat with your child about the different learning experiences happening in school — whether through competitions, projects or classroom activities.
What did they enjoy? What challenged them? What new skills or interests are they discovering? 🌱✨
These conversations help students reflect more deeply and appreciate the value of learning beyond the classroom. 🌟

🧭🌿 Greendale ODAC | PWOC 2026 🌿🧭
A belated shoutout of an extremely proud moment for our Outdoor Adventure Club (ODAC)! 💚
Last year at PWOC, our B Division Boys achieved a historic milestone with a 2nd placing finish. This year, our C Division Boys have taken things even further — clinching both 🥇1st and 🥈2nd place! An incredible achievement and a proud moment for Team Greendale. ✨
It was also a strong overall showing in orienteering today. Our girls competed courageously some of the best oreinteers in the nation, giving their absolute best! Well done to our B Girls teams for finishing 5th and 6th — a commendable effort that reflects resilience and determination. 🌱
The journey continues with two more competitions ahead — NORS and JLAR — and the team is ready to keep training hard, improving together and pushing their limits once again. 💪
Adventure. Grit. Teamwork. That’s the Greendale heartbeat. 🧭✨

🌙✨ Selamat Hari Raya Eid Al-Adha ✨🌙
Hari Raya Eid Al-Adha, also known as Aidiladha or Hari Raya Haji, takes place during the annual Hajj pilgrimage season in Makkah, where Muslims from around the world gather to perform the pilgrimage. Unlike Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which marks the end of Ramadan, Eid Al-Adha commemorates values of sacrifice, compassion, gratitude and helping those in need. 💚
Did you know?
“Aidiladha” or “Eidul-Adha” comes from the Arabic term Eid al-Adha, which means “Festival of Sacrifice”. Different spellings reflect different languages and cultural usage around the world — and in Singapore, you may also hear people greeting one another with “Selamat Hari Raya Haji”! 🌱
For many Muslim families, it is a time of sacrifice, prayer, reflection and coming together with loved ones and the community.
At Greendale, we celebrate the shared values that bring communities together — empathy, generosity and care for others.
Wishing all our staff and students celebrating a meaningful Hari Raya Aidiladha / Eid Al-Adha/ Haji!
And to everyone else, happy holidays and enjoy the holiday! ✨

🌷✨ Happy Mother’s Day from Greendale! ✨🌷
Today, we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers and mother figures in our Greendale community — our staff, parents and caregivers who give so much of themselves each day with love, strength and quiet sacrifice. 💚
To our students: today is a good day to let others know just how amazing your mum is.
💬 Drop a message in the comments using one of these sentence starters to let everyone know just how special she is:
✨ “One thing I wish people knew about my mum is…”
✨ “My mum may not realise this, but I really appreciate how she…”
✨ “My mum is amazing because…”
✨ “A small thing my mum does that means a lot to me is…”
Sometimes, the simplest words mean the most. 🌱
Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers in the Greendale family. Thank you for all that you do. 💐
