🏆🐂 BIG congratulations to Eli Williams on bringing home Grand Champion Red Brahman honors at the 2026 Brazoria County Fair!

Eli and his heifer, Bristol, took home the top prize, along with several other impressive finishes! Rafter J Ranch also celebrated a Reserve Grand Champion Red Brahman Heifer win. What an incredible week for this family!

Anyone who knows anything about raising and showing livestock understands that it is NO EASY TASK! It takes hours of hard work, dedication, patience, and caring for these animals. Beyond the ribbons and buckles, these experiences build outstanding character, responsibility, and a strong work ethic in our young people.

I also want to recognize the entire Williams family, who work incredibly hard and support our Alvin community in so many ways. From baling hay and raising livestock to supporting the Alvin Volunteer Fire Department and countless other community efforts, they are always finding ways to give back.

It's especially rewarding to see a hardworking young man bring home a BIG WIN for himself, his family, and the Alvin community!

Congratulations, Eli, and the entire Williams family! The City of Alvin is proud of you! 👏🏆

A special thank you to Coach Rene Valadez! 🏊‍♂️

After an amazing 10-year journey with the City of Alvin and the Alvin Parks and Recreation Department. Rene is moving on to new opportunities, and I want to recognize his dedication and the difference he has made in our community.

I’ve known Rene for 20 years, going back to our high school days. He’s a great guy and an asset to any team he’s part of. My son absolutely loved his swim lessons and coaching sessions with him, which makes this thank-you especially personal for our family.

Rene has grown the Triton swim team to an impressive 70-plus swimmers across our two city pools, helping young swimmers build their skills and confidence along the way. His commitment to our kids and our city is something worth celebrating.

Thank you, Coach, for a decade of dedicated service to Alvin. Wishing you nothing but the best in your future endeavors. Our family will be cheering you on!

We recently celebrated this milestone and the ribbon cutting at their new location! 🎉 It’s wonderful to see a longtime local business continue to invest in our downtown and serve the Alvin community.
